March 14th, 2009I should have guessed this from the dead space that has been his website for the past few months, but N’Gai Croal is leaving Newsweek. Although I wish him the best as an independent consultant (slash everything else, it would seem), I’m disappointed that another mainstream news outlet is losing its videogame voice. It’s probably to be expected, given the current state of such publications, but it’s disappointing nonetheless. I wonder if it’s due to the economy.
Apparently, www.ngaicroal.com will be ramping up shortly, although it’s just a GoDaddy blank slate at the moment.

I saw this just recently, very sorry to hear. Stephen Totilo’s still writing at Multiplayer, right? Croal and Totilo are among my favorite industry writers, and some of the very few people writing about the industry who genuinely understand it and have interesting things to say about it.
