Comcast = Suck
August 18th, 2007I just wanted to say that every bad thing people say about Comcast is true. I’m moving in 2 weeks, and trying to order new cable/internet service. I’ve spent 20 minutes on hold just to try to buy things from them. Periodically, I’m bombarded by loud, unpleasant static.
This doesn’t bode well for my future cable needs.

I just moved and set up cable/internet service with Comcast in Denver. The “Technician” came over set everything up the internet was working the cable signal was clear. He said he had to do something with the external cables and so when the picture went fuzzy and the internet signal died I was sure he was still working on it so I waited a few minutes, went outside to check and the truck was gone. I was then on the phone with customer service for about an hour and fortunately had another technician come back and fix it the same day but it seemed a little ridiculous.

I switched from Comcast to RCN because it was a little cheaper. I’m not sure how much better they are, but my connection does seem maybe a little better than it used to.
No HD movies, however, on OnDemand with RCN. Actually, DirectTV I think has the most HD channels, but I’m worried about the signal being degraded in bad weather or something like that. Anyone have experience with that?

My parents had Dish Network and would sometimes lose the signal due to weather but I have no experience with the HD side of things.

I’ve been using RCN without any problem so far; unfortunately, they don’t offer service in the area I’m moving to. SBC offered the dish network at a surprisingly good price, but the apartment won’t allow satellite. So I’m pretty much stuck
