Conundrum of the Day

April 13th, 2007

Is it strange to anyone else that the console with the worst online connectivity now has free (for a time anyway), final web browsing software while the console with the best, but also subscription-based online connectivity has none?

It’s not exactly a killer app, just a nice little feature.  And it’s just amazing to me that Microsoft, creator of Internet Explorer, still hasn’t implemented a web browser for their Xbox 360.  What exactly are they afraid of?  Is anyone else perplexed by this?

Not at all. It’s another symbol of the laziness of Microsoft and Sony when it comes to the gaming industry. And no, I’d say PSN is the weakest online compatiblity of all the consoles this generation. The only reason you say otherwise is Nintendo just hasn’t got it up and running yet.

Which is exactly what makes them the weakest right now. I wasn’t talking about future development, and to be honest, we have no idea what Nintendo is doing… and most likely, it’ll still require friend codes… If it requires friend codes, it automatically gets stuck as the worst online connectivity. Just about everyone hates friends codes.
